Leonardo DiCaprio And Tobey Maguire’s Huge Decision
The name of the movie which the two stars saw as a black mark in their careers was ‘Don’s Plum‘. The movie was inspired by another movie called ‘My Dinner with Andre‘. The issue that both of them had with the film was that it was way too naturalistic. Sometimes in such movies, the fine line between the actors and their actual selves is blurred. Thus, when Leonardo DiCaprio yells, “I’ll ***ing throw a bottle at your face, you goddamn whore,” some may not see it as pure fiction.
On the other hand, Tobey Maguire discussed his masturbation habits openly in the movie. That is why the actors didn’t want the public to see these characters who could easily be mistaken for being close to their real nature. The line became more blurred because the friends formed a sort of frat house of former child stars and those on the verge of fame. These people used their position to get women. These facts further contributed to why the actors wanted to get the movie banned.
