Lisa Kudrow, who essayed the iconic character of Phoebe Buffay in the hit sitcom ‘Friends‘, said she almost wanted to say the F word to her son who had just finished watching the show. The 58-year-old actress appeared on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’, where she talked about the same.
The actress didn’t like his son, Julian’s reactions, and the backhanded compliment he gave her. Julian was 5 years old when the classic sitcom’s final season was released in 2004.

For Lisa Kudrow’s Son “The Guys Are Really Funny!” But What About Phoebe Buffay?
Lisa Kudrow recalled the time when her son started watching ‘Friends‘ during school because all of his peers were watching the show. Giving his mom a review, Julian said, “It’s actually really funny and the guys are so funny.” After a slight pause, the actress recalled the incident and said, “He’s like, ’No, I mean, you’re funny too. And never in my life have I wanted to tell my own kid, ‘F**k you.’”
To clear things up, Lisa instantly said that she didn’t actually say this to him. Instead of keeping the little wound aside, she replied to her son, “I mean, listen, it’s not required that you’re a fan. You don’t have to like what I do. But don’t be so demeaning! Wow!”
Julian’s reaction and review for her other show, ‘The Comeback,’ was different, which he watched while in isolation due to Covid. The Emmy-nominated actress was thrilled to hear her son say, “So I just watched the first two episodes. It’s really good, Mom.” After she said thanks, Julian asked her if he could ask her some questions related to it. Elated at her son’s piqued interest, Kudrow said that she almost started crying, adding, “I didn’t think that anyone in my family liked that show.”
Julian’s Relationship With Lisa Kudrow And Her ‘Friends’ Co-Stars
When Lisa was filming ‘Friends‘, she had Julian with her husband, Michael Stern. Lisa brought her toddler son to the set often. During her appearance on Conan O’Brien’s US Chat Show, Lisa revealed that Julian spent a lot of time with her co-star, Jennifer Aniston, behind the show, and would often mistake her as his mother. He grew quite attached to her.
She said, “He got a little confused, I know that he was really obsessed with Jen Aniston. He’d fly into her lap. Well, she’s a love bug, and that made sense. And I was always glad for anyone that Julian felt love for and felt from. But then at home, she’d be on TV, and he’d go, ‘Mommy!'”
