Why Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Were Not Invited For Queen’s Pre-Funeral Reception?

Prince Harry is trying to cope with the loss of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II who passed away last week. Ever since her health started deteriorating, the Duke of Sussex was by her side along with other members of the British royal family. Meghan Markle also joined him later on.

Recent reports from the media suggest that Harry and Meghan have not been invited to Queen’s pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace. They have received an invitation for the main event but not for this one. It might have something to do with their strained relationship with the royal family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had issues with the Royal Family which culminated with the two stepping down as royal members in January 2020.

According to a Page Six report, the couple has not been invited to Queen’s pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace. The two were not informed apparently that only working British royals were welcomed for that ceremony.

Both Harry and Meghan “appeared baffled” upon knowing this mixup. The reason is unknown it might just be a mixup or something else. President Joe Biden, French President, Emmanuel Macron, and several heads of state will reach London before the Monarch’s state funeral on Monday.

Markle and the Duke of Sussex raised some eyebrows when they were spotted holding hands at the Queen’s procession on Wednesday which was a breach of protocols.

Prince Harry Can Now Wear Military Uniform At Queen’s Vigil

Earlier it was reported that Harry will not be allowed to wear a military uniform at the Queen‘s vigil. But now it appears that he can and will be wearing the military outfit.

It was because non-working royals are banned from wearing uniforms to events. But recent reports suggest that things have changed. “He was simply prepared to wear whatever his grandmother made plans for. He’s focused on honoring her and that’s it. If they’d like him in uniform, I have no reason to think that he won’t oblige,” a source said.

Another source said: “The Duke of Sussex has served his country and is a highly respected member of the armed forces with everything he has done for veterans.”

“It is important that the Queen’s grandchildren are all made to feel welcome and comfortable as they grieve their beloved grandmother together.”
