Alan Ritchson Responds To Fans’ Demands For Joining James Gunn’s DCU
As James Gunn announced his plans for Batman in his envisioned universe, fans have been speculating about the actors who would be worthy enough to pick up the mantle of Man of Steel. The fans have collectively chosen their pick. The people have spoken, and they demand Alan Ritchson to join Gunn’s DC universe as Batman.
During a recent interview with BroBible, Alan Ritchson was asked if he would consider playing Batman in Gunn’s upcoming Batman film. To which the actor responded by saying, “The fact that people are interested in me playing Batman is a real honor and privilege. It’s one of the first characters I fell in love with as a child: I still remember the big, long pistol coming out of Joker’s pants as he goes to shoot down the Batplane.”
Reminiscing about the classic Batman moments, Ritchson added, “Those iconic moments really resonated with me as a child. For there to even be a conversation or a rumor mill surrounding this role, for me… all I can do is laugh. I just think it’s wild that’s where we are. Who knows what they have planned for the franchise? If they want to go much younger and tell these origin stories, sounds like that’s kind of… […] I would love to. I would absolutely love to. It’s one of the coolest characters of all time.”

Why Ritchson Is An Ideal Choice For James Gunn’s Batman
Alan Ritchson will be an ideal choice for Batman in the upcoming DC film because of various reasons. One is, that he has been obsessed with the character since childhood, making him familiar with the history and persona of the character in depth. Also, Alan Ritchson has previously worked with DC, leaving him acquainted with the franchise.
One of his earliest major gigs was Aquaman on ‘Smallville‘ marking his debut in DC. Ritchson also starred in a DC TV series ‘Titans’ appearing as seasons Hank Hall AKA Hawk from seasons one to three. His roles as Aquaman and Hawk have proved that DC is not an unknown territory for him.
