There’s a rumor swirling around the internet that the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo could be making his long-awaited debut in the DC Universe. The buzz centers around the upcoming ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ film.
Additionally, there’s speculation that Jason Momoa might be the first choice for the role. Whether the rumor pans out or not the mere thought of Lobo flying into the DCU with Supergirl is enough to excite any comic fan.

Jason Momoa Might Feature As Lobo In ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’
According to Daniel Richman of DanielRPK on social media, there is a character in ‘Supergirl’ that has piqued the interest of the DC brain trust. “There’s a role in Supergirl that has them interested in Jason Momoa. If I had to guess, I’d say it sounds a lot like Lobo,” he stated.
Now, this is not an official confirmation by any means. However, Richtman has a pretty good record of breaking DC news. Let’s face it, the idea of Lobo and Supergirl teaming up (or more likely, clashing) is a wild one.
Additionally, the rumor specifically mentions the ‘Aquaman’ star as a potential candidate for the role. This isn’t entirely surprising. Momoa has a certain larger-than-life feel that is perfect for the brash and in-your-face personality of Lobo. Also, he has already demonstrated his fitness for action parts and the humor is not a problem either.
However, it is only speculation at the moment. Momoa is still working on the ‘Aquaman’ movies, and it is unknown if he would like to play another DC character. With that being said, the idea of Momoa portraying Lobo could only be considered a plus.

Can Supergirl And Lobo Team Up?
Superman’s cousin a perfect example of a true, self-sacrificing hero with an unshakable sense of justice, is as far away from Lobo as one can imagine. Whereas, Lobo is a cigar-smoking, main man, gun for hire with the added bonus of being a criminal bounty hunter and troublemaker. He’s an anti-hero at best, and a full-blown villain at worst.
So, how could these two characters even share the screen? ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ is inspired by the comic series of the same name by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Furthermore, in the comics, Supergirl goes on a vengeful mission through space to kill for a dear one.
Additionally, this could easily provide an opening for Lobo to enter the picture. Perhaps their paths cross while Supergirl hunts down her quarry, or maybe Lobo has a bounty on his head that leads Supergirl to him. Another interesting factor is that the comic version doesn’t actually feature Lobo. However, introducing him could add a whole new layer of complexity and fun to the film. Here’s to hoping that DC Studios decides to go for it and give us this rather odd, but possibly awesome, team-up.
