The actor, who plays Harvey Dent in the highly anticipated sequel to Matt Reeves’ film, recently likened the production to ‘The Godfather Part II‘.
That’s a pretty big comparison to make, given the reputation of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic. Stan knows he’s setting the bar high, but his comments suggest what Reeves is building behind the scenes could make the long wait worthwhile.
Sebastian Stan Thinks Reeves Is Making Something Special
Speaking to Variety, Stan explained what it was like to see Reeves’ production up close and personal. He mentioned that sometimes he looked around and felt like they were making “Godfather Part II”. “I go to set sometimes, and I look around, and I’m like, I think we’re making f*cking ‘Godfather: Part Two.’ I really don’t want to raise it, but I do feel like it’s going to be a payoff.”

The comparison is especially significant since ‘The Godfather Part II’ is not just remembered as a great sequel. It’s considered one of the few sequels that can compete with, or even outdo, its original. Stan also spoke about the things he enjoys about Reeves’ style.
‘The Batman Part II’ is “grounded and real,” which is exactly what the actor said the film is, which fits perfectly with the gritty tone established by Robert Pattinson’s first outing as Bruce Wayne.
The downbeat tone may prove to be particularly significant when Harvey Dent comes along. The character’s final destination in the comic is known to fans, and his turn into Two-Face is one of the most interesting potential story arcs in the sequel.
The Long Wait May Be The Best Thing For ‘The Batman: Part II‘
The most difficult thing for ‘The Batman Part II’ has been patience. The film has faced several delays and was finally set for release on October 1, 2027. Reeves’ vision has been long awaited by fans, so it is only right that they should see it come to fruition.
