Formula One driver Charles Leclerc says his recent wedding to longtime partner Alexandra Saint Mleux was intentionally private, describing the ceremony as a small gathering attended only by close family members.
For the unversed, Leclerc and Saint Mleux exchanged vows in a civil ceremony in Monaco on February 28. The couple publicly confirmed the marriage in a joint Instagram post on March 2, calling it their “civil wedding.”
Speaking during an interview ahead of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 4, the Ferrari driver reflected on the occasion and its emotional significance. The Ferrari driver said, “It was family only, and it was very small and secret in a way, which we really enjoyed.”
He described the day as a lasting milestone for both families. “It was one of those days that I’ll forever remember. And same for Alex. And same for our family.”
Leclerc traveled to Australia shortly after the ceremony to prepare for the season-opening race of the Formula One World Championship. Despite the quick turnaround, he said the wedding left him energized as he shifted focus to competition.
The 28-year-old said, “It’s been good. It (was) obviously an amazing day, and it took a lot of positivity on the fly because I went straight to fly to here in Melbourne. So still very happy and excited for the wedding and excitement for starting the race tomorrow as well.”

The star driver also said he is still adjusting to wearing his new wedding ring while continuing his racing schedule.
Although the couple has already formalized their marriage legally, Leclerc confirmed they plan to hold a larger ceremony in the future with friends and extended family. “We’ll do another one with all of our closest friends in, actually, quite a bit of time,” he said, adding that it will “take some time to organize it properly.”

Wedding speculation began circulating online shortly before the announcement, when videos showed the pair driving through Monaco in a red vintage Ferrari while wearing attire resembling wedding attire.
In the Instagram post confirming the marriage, Saint Mleux wore a white lace gown with beaded detailing, along with a diamond necklace and earrings, while holding a bouquet. Leclerc chose a light beige suit with a matching tie.
The couple’s dachshund, Leo, also appeared in the celebration wearing a black tuxedo. Additional images shared separately on their Instagram accounts showed the newlyweds posing together and displaying their wedding rings. The posts included photos of the pair in the vintage car and standing together on a balcony overlooking the water.
