Barbie Ferreira On Her ‘Euphoria’ Exit
In August 2022, actress Barbie Ferreira announced that she won’t be reprising her role as Kat Hernandez in the third season of HBO’s ‘Euphoria.’ The news was extensively covered by the media, with fans showing their sadness over her departure.
In her appearance on Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, the ‘Unpregnant‘ actress has addressed the reason behind her exit and the rumors of her clash with showrunner Sam Levinson.
She said the media scrutiny around the news “was really rough for me.” However, she said the choice was a “mutual decision”. “I don’t think there was a place for her to go,” she said. “I mean, I think that there were places you could go. I just don’t think it would have fit into the show.”
She further added: “And I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don’t want to play that and I think they didn’t want that either.”

Ferreira And Sam Levinson Were Not On The Same Page
In the same interview, the ‘Nope‘ actress said that if her character were written differently, she would have stayed “for as long as I was asked.” She also talked about her creative difference with Sam.
“Sam, me — it was a struggle to find a continuation of her,” she added. “That was actually really hurtful watching and seeing the fans get upset.” She said it was “because Sam writes for things he relates to. I don’t think he relates to Kat. I relate to Kat. So I had to follow my own path.”
The production of the third season of the show will commence in the latter half of 2023. We can expect it to hit the platform somewhere around summer 2024.
