Game Of Thrones Actress Lena Headey Sued Over Her Role In ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ will feature some high-profile new MCU characters. It includes Russell Crowe‘s Zeus and Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. Fans were very happy to learn that Lena Headey was part of Thor 4, but apparently, she did not make it to the theatrical cut.

Lena Headey is best known to the public for her role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. Recently, longtime U.K. agency Troika is suing her for $1.5 million in unpaid fees and commissions linked to a number of projects. Same with the upcoming film “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Here is everything you need to know.

Lena Headey Sued Over Role In Thor: Love and Thunder

According to Variety, actress Lena Headey is being sued by Troika, her former UK agency, for unpaid commission fees from multiple projects. Thor: Love and Thunder, a Marvel Studios project, is one of them.

Heady reportedly had an unspecified role in the next MCU film but her part does not make it to the final cut. Even though she was paid for the part, the actress reportedly owes the agency over USD 500,000.

Over the last few years, Disney has faced an unusual number of high-profile lawsuits. The most notably Scarlett Johansson’s battle over the release of Black Widow and Disney’s battle to retain the rights to Marvel’s characters.

This one against Lena Headey is yet another letdown. Especially since she doesn’t even appear in the final cut of Thor: Love and Thunder.

YMU Claimed That They Are Owed $300,000 In Commission Fees

The money at the stake in this legal battle is $1.5 million. It stems from the fact that the Thor sequel is not the only project mentioned as a reason for bringing this situation to light.

Of course, given that it’s one of the most important new projects from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s only natural that it’s the one being highlighted, even if Headey isn’t involved in the end.

In addition to the $500,000 sought after Thor: Love and Thunder, Troika/YMU claims they are owed $300,000 in commission fees for Headey’s film 9 Bullets and $650,000 in commission fees for the Showtime dramedy series Rita, despite the latter not being picked up after its pilot.

It’s unclear whether Headey will ever get to bring her role to the big screen, but fans will keep an eye on her progress in that regard. Perhaps her deleted scenes will allow her to play a different character in the universe, or Marvel Studios may be saving Headey’s current MCU character for a future project.
