Barry Keoghan Defends Himself Against Fans’ “Absent Father” Comment
Barry Keoghan is setting the record straight for trolls who claim he has not been the best father to his two-year-old son, Brando. The actor sat down at The Louis Theroux Podcast to discuss his life with stardom and why fans see less of his son.
“I am not an absent father,” the actor said, “The more attention I’ve gotten lately and the more in the public I’ve become, the less I’ve posted about my child because I don’t think it’s fair to put my child online.”

“There are sick people out there. Because I reigned that in, people draw a narrative and go, ‘Absent father, sh*t, deadbeat dad,’ and more disgusting things I wouldn’t even repeat. Just the audacity of some people, man, it sickens me. It makes me furious,” he added.
He continued, “I feel a responsibility. I feel an enormous amount of pressure, which is good. And I can’t get the little boy off my mind. It’s beautiful. Y’know, it’s crazy, but when he looks at you, you feel like the most important person in the world. That’s the effect he has on me.”

Louis Theroux also made sure to ask Barry Keoghan about his relationship with Sabrina Carpenter. The interviewer asked, “Are we talking about Sabrina or not? Are you in a relationship with Sabrina Carpenter?”
Barry replied, “Listen, all I’m going to say is I’m incredibly blessed. Such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented and yeah. Pretty special. Louis, you got me. You’re not a vampire.”
