Kanye West is someone who loves to be in the news all the time. The 45-year-old rapper is known for his outspoken views on a number of topics including slavery, politics, and race among other things. The ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ singer lately has been in the news for his business ventures.
West, officially known as Ye, has made a claim that hasn’t really surprised anyone. The Grammy Award winner has said that he has never read a book in his life. Ye compared reading books to eating brussels sprouts. Let’s find out more about what the ‘Donda‘ rapper said.
Kanye West Has Never Read A Book
Ye always says something or does something that puts the spotlight on him. He recently shared certain details about his non-existing reading habits.
On Friday’s episode of Alo Yoga’s ‘Alo Mind Full’ podcast, the ‘Watch the Throne’ singer told Alo cofounder Danny Harris that he is more interested in having a “good conversation.”
“I actually haven’t read any book,” West said. “Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me, and talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli.”
West was referring to a popular pasta dish that is served at a restaurant in Santa Monica, Giorgi Baldi. He and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian once went there.
He talked about the pressure of writing correct English. “It’s the Tower of Babylon. English, y’know. The idea of having to speak correct English, like, you’re not going to respect what I’m saying, even though you know what I’m saying, unless I’m speaking correct English,” Ye said. Ye’s comments come in the light of him running an educational institute called ‘Donda Academy.’
