WWE star Logan Paul made a bold assertion about the demands of professional wrestling during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take on December 23, 2025. The former WWE United States champion compared his experience in WWE to his highly publicized exhibition boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., arguing that professional wrestling proved far more challenging.
Paul explained that while elite-level boxing is undeniably demanding, WWE required a level of physical punishment, mental focus, and overall endurance he had never encountered before. According to Paul, the rigors of professional wrestling pushed him beyond anything he had previously experienced in either sports or entertainment.
Logan Paul Explains Why WWE Is His Toughest Challenge Yet

During the discussion on First Take, Logan Paul was asked which was more difficult: boxing Floyd Mayweather Jr. or performing in WWE. Paul did not hesitate in his response, stating that professional wrestling was far more demanding. “WWE is way harder than fighting Floyd Mayweather.”
He added, “I have said this before. It is the hardest thing I have ever done by a mile. Boxing is obviously difficult. Floyd Mayweather is very good. But wrestling involves a 360-degree skill set where you have to work every part of your mind and body that I have just not experienced before in a craft.”
Before signing with WWE, Paul faced Mayweather in a highly publicized exhibition boxing match in June 2021. The bout went the full eight rounds and, in accordance with exhibition rules, ended without an official winner.

Since transitioning to professional wrestling, Paul has become a consistent on-screen presence and a featured in-ring performer for WWE. His remarks underscored the physical toll, mental focus, and wide-ranging skill set required to succeed in wrestling, challenges he described as exceeding anything he had previously encountered.
Paul also offered a blunt assessment of John Cena’s final WWE match while addressing the subject on his vlog in December 2025. His comments came in response to Cena’s retirement following the 17-time world champion’s final in-ring appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., which took place 12 days earlier.
Logan Paul Delivers Harsh Verdict On John Cena’s Final WWE Match

Cena faced Gunther in what was billed as the final match of his illustrious career. The bout ended controversially and unexpectedly, with Gunther making Cena tap out, a result that sparked debate among fans.
The outcome came shortly after Cena had also suffered a loss to Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series, leaving many supporters hoping he would secure a victorious farewell. Despite the backlash, Cena showed no public frustration and appeared to support WWE management’s decision.
During his farewell tour, the Boston veteran made several appearances that drew widespread praise, with multiple performances exceeding expectations. When asked if he might reconsider retirement, Cena firmly stated that he had no plans to return to the ring and would instead serve as a WWE ambassador in the coming years.
Paul, however, was unreserved in his critique. Referring to Cena’s long-standing mantra, he said, “As John Cena would say, you have got to earn your sunset, which he definitely did not do in his last match. I watched his last match. I watched John Cena’s last match. He tapped out to Gunther. He gave up. His whole thing was never give up. And he gave up.”

Paul further tied Cena’s exit to his own vision for WWE’s future. “The good news is with a guy like John gone, this company can really thrive with me in charge and The Vision leading the way,” he said. “All of yesterday’s match was a microcosm of what the future of WWE could look like.”
Although Cena’s in-ring career has concluded, he has already signed a new five-year contract with WWE. Under the agreement, he is scheduled to begin his ambassadorial role immediately after WrestleMania 42 in 2026.
