Kim Kardashian Buys Princess Diana’s Necklace
Diana, Princess of Wales was known for her intelligence, personality, and calm demeanor. Her fashion sense and jewelry collection were also that’s still talked about and written about.
Which is why Kim Kardashian decided to buy one of her necklaces. According to Page Six, the reality star bought Diana’s iconic amethyst-and-diamond cross necklace in an auction held at Sotheby.
She paid an amount of $197,453 for it. As per the press release, four bidders competed in the last round of their yearly Royal & Noble sale. Ultimately Kim’s rep won the bid “at more than double its pre-auction estimate.”

History Of The Necklace
Also known as the Attallah Cross, the gem-encrusted necklace was worn by Diana in 1987 at a charity gala in London. The cross-shaped pendant, thought to be a one-off private commission by Garrard for one of their regular clients, is a bold and colorful piece set with square-cut amethysts and accented by circular-cut diamonds,” the press release of Sotheby said.
They further added, “The cross has a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats and measures approximately 136 x 95mm.” It was designed by a jeweler named Garrard in the 1920s.
Naim Attallah CBE bought the necklace in the 1980s and gave it to Diana to wear on rare occasions. After her death, it was never seen in public until the auction.
