It has been 77 years since the Met Gala was conducted for charity purposes. It all started when the Costume Institute was merged with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1946. Starting as a fundraiser, it became an opulent spectacle, celebrating fashion and designers from all over the world.
For its 77th year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art decided to honor the legacy of the late creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld. The nocturnal creative tour de force was a big believer in high fashion, promulgating his vision through fabrics. The theme for the year will be ‘Karl Lagerfeld: The Line of Beauty.’ Over the years, along with A-list stars and designers, royalty from all over the world has also graced the red carpet of the biggest fashion evening.
