Parenting influencer Ruby Franke, who has a channel called 8 Passengers where she talks about and gives advice on parenting, was arrested for child abuse, in an ironic turn of events. The vlogger who makes videos of her family and provides insights on various topics related to family was allegedly abusing her kids, and she pled guilty to the charges in court.

Ruby Franke: Mommy Vlogger Hit With Child Abuse Claims
Ruby Franke is a well-known social media personality and the matriarch of the Franke family. They are best known for their immensely famous YouTube channel, 8 Passengers. Ruby, her husband Kevin, and their six children – Shari, Chad, Abby, Julie, Russell, and Eve – make up the Franke household. Their family content gives viewers a peek into their daily activities and experiences as a big family. The Franke family offers a wide range of content on their YouTube channel, including videos about homeschooling, traveling, and parenting.
Though many applauded her channel, many also called her parenting advice out as being a little tough and controversial. Many critics made videos about something being wrong with the family. Years later, it has been proved there actually was something wrong with the family. Beneath all the happy family nonsense, Ruby was in fact abusing her children.

What Are The Charges Against Ruby Franke?
According to authorities, the mother of six was taken into custody in August 2023 after her son ran away and pleaded for food and drink at a neighbor’s house. He had duct tape on his ankles and wrists. The child was badly malnourished and had “deep lacerations from being tied up with rope and from his malnourishment,” according to court documents that were filed by law enforcement authorities. Authorities claimed to have discovered Franke’s starving 10-year-old daughter inside the house and asserted that they thought Franke “had knowledge of malnourishment, abuse, and neglect.”
Youtuber Swoop said: “She was often giving parental advice, and most of it seemed to showcase how she decided to punish her children in ways that became increasingly alarming and very questionable.”
In 2020, viewers of the channel who found her videos and the treatment of her children disturbing, launched a petition against her to ask child protection services to investigate the family. YouTube has now banned and deleted all her videos.
The eldest of the Franke children, Shari, posted a series of photos on her Instagram regarding the incident. She wrote, “Today has been a big day. My family and I are so glad justice is being served. We’ve been trying to tell the police and CPS for years about this, and I’m so glad they finally decided to step up.”
Franke entered a plea deal on December 18 after which two out of the six charges were dropped. She will also testify against her business partner, Hildebrandt. The disgraced mom is now scheduled to be sentenced on February 20.
