How Hugh Jackman’s Final Scene in ‘Logan’ Helped Plan Iron Man’s Death
Just like Robert Downey Jr’s ‘Iron Man‘ Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine’ is also considered to be one of the most iconic castings to date. The two aced their roles as superheroes. So, it’s not surprising that Feige was inspired by Wolverine’s ending in ‘Logan’. While speaking at Empire‘s live Q&A Feige opened up about the inspiration behind Iron Man’s Death. “We saw Logan like the audience did, in a theater having nothing to do with the making of that film.”
He further talked about being left in awe by the amazing ending for Hugh’s character. “And went, ‘Oh my god, what an amazing ending for Hugh as this character.’ And there are only a handful of examples where an actor so associated with a character can go out perfectly. That’s what we desperately wanted to give Robert, and that was what our focus was on.”

What Was Hugh Jackman’s ‘Logan’ Ending?
Logan concludes with a scene where Hugh’s ‘Wolverine’ succumbs to his injuries after a fierce battle. All while his clone daughter Laura (X-23) is by his side. The climax of ‘Logan’ sees Wolverine engaging in a brutal and intense battle against his own clone, X-24, as well as a group of ruthless mercenaries.
However, As the battle reaches its peak, Wolverine sustains fatal injuries and succumbs to them, passing away with Laura by his side. It’s a somber yet fitting end to Wolverine’s journey in the X-Men cinematic universe.
Additionally, Ryan Reynolds while on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ confirmed that Wolverine’s perfect end in ‘Logan’ will not be affected by his appearance in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘. “We figured out a way to do it that’s Hugh Jackman approved and Kevin Feige approved, where we’re completely protecting the legacy of Logan, the way it was left off. We wouldn’t mess with that.”
