All The Deaths In ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’

It’s safe to say that ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘s R-rating is well-deserved. The film is filled to the brim with fight sequences which get bloody real quick. It even reintroduced characters from the Fox X-Men films and pre-MCU Marvel movies, making all the excitement around it legitimate.

While this led to exciting cameos, it also resulted in a high death count. If you have lost the count of who all died amid the bloody action sequences, we’re here to help. Here’s a look at all the lives lost in the film.

Cassandra Nova

The primary antagonist of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, Cassandra Nova, met a very explosive end. Despite being almost invincible, her hunger for more power led to her death. Because of her immense power and twisted ambition, she sought to control the multiverse through the Time Ripper with the goal of ending all realities.

However, her plans were thwarted by Deadpool and Wolverine, who managed to reverse the machine’s power by putting their lives at stake. The resulting explosion was cataclysmic, reducing Cassandra to atomic particles.

The death of Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, is a particularly brutal moment in the film. It can be said that the Merc himself was responsible for Johnny’s Death. Deadpool, Wolverine, and Johnny were captured by Mova’s crew.

However, Deadpool, to save his own life, threw Johnny under the bus. Cassandra, in a fit of rage and power, unleashed a horrific attack. She stripped Johnny of his skin, making it one of the most bizarre and painful deaths in the film.

Pyro

Pyro‘s attempt to double-cross Cassandra by shooting her while she’s restrained by Deadpool ultimately le to his downfall. Believing he’s eliminating the duo’s chance to return to their timeline, Pyro’s plan backfired spectacularly as Wolverine saved Cassandra.

Cassandra, far from defeated, brutally murdered Pyro after controlling his mind and entering the Deadpool and Wolverine timeline. With Pyro eliminated, Cassandra set her sights on Paradox, who was the one behind Pyro’s change of heart.

Juggernaut

The crucial element in Deadpool and Wolverine’s plan to beat Nova was Juggernaut‘s helmet, a powerful artifact capable of blocking mind-reading mutants’ abilities. To acquire the helmet Laura went ham on Juggernaut and decapitated him.

This allowed Deadpool and Wolverine to utilize the helmet’s power to constrain Cassandra’s abilities, creating a window of opportunity for Pyro to strike. Despite almost killing her in the process, Wolverine stopped Deadpool in memory of Professor X.

The brutal efficiency of Deadpool and Wolverine is on full display as they take down Cassandra’s formidable crew with ease. The two teamed up with Blade, Laura, Elektra, and Gambit to charge at Cassandra’s Lair. While not being played around with, the crew was no match to our heroes.

Toad, Psylocke, Azazel, and the rest of the henchmen were indeed goners from the start. The aftermath of the battle was bodies littered all around the Ant-Man corpse that served as Cassandra’s lair. Even Nova herself would have died if it weren’t for Wolverine.

The fates of Blade, Elektra, and Gambit are left shrouded in mystery. While the heroes were fighting alongside Deadpool and Wolverine, they did not escape the void. Both Deadpool and Wolverine managed to escape the void by just a few seconds, but the others weren’t as lucky.

In the film, all three get severely injured during a battle with Cassandra’s crew. However, none of their deaths are shown on screen maintaining the ambiguity. Although X-23 or Laura’s return in the final scene confirms that she survived.

Nicepool

In a desperate bid to evade the hail of bullets from the variants, Deadpool resorts to using Nicepool’s body as a makeshift shield. However, this tactical move comes with a shocking revelation: Nicepool lacked a healing factor, making him mortally vulnerable to the onslaught.

Deadpool being Deadpool, despite claiming to take him to the hospital, used him as a shield again. This led to his head bursting into pieces. To add more to the horror, Deadpool then stole his gold-plated desert eagles claiming that it was to “honor Nicepool’s Memory.”

Sabretooth

The highly anticipated showdown between Wolverine and Sabretooth was surprisingly brief, with Wolverine emerging victorious without breaking a sweat. Despite Sabretooth’s intimidating presence in the trailers, the actual fight revealed a villain who had clearly aged and lost his ferocity.

With a swift and deadly strike, Wolverine sliced through Sabretooth’s neck, decapitating him in the process. The aftermath saw Deadpool joking around with the disembodied head.

In a surprising twist, the heroes of the film Deadpool and Wolverine defied expectations by surviving their seemingly sacrificial confrontation with the Time Ripper. As they walked towards certain doom, Deadpool and Wolverine shared the brunt of the blast, distributing the damage between them.

By sharing the load, they effectively neutralized the lethal impact, showcasing the strength that the two held. The two thus survived, holding each other’s hands, as they destroyed Cassandra.
