Before Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield paraded with the mantle of the friendly neighborhood hero. Marvel’s flagship superhero, Spider-Man first debuted on the big screens in 2001 with Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. However, after delivering three massive box-office successes, the web of complications behind the scenes led Sony to reboot the franchise.
Sony’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ starring Andrew Garfield took a serious take on the friendly superhero, by putting Peter Parker in the middle of a fix involving the death of his parents and introducing a new villain, The Lizard. Despite receiving a solid review, the sequel ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ did not live up to the hype. But Andrew Garfield’s comeback as Peter Parker in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ spiked up fans’ excitement and they are now questioning his return in ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’.

Was Andrew Garfield Fired from Spider-Man Role?
Tom Holland replacing Andrew Garfield as the most favored superhero of the MCU had nothing to do with the latter’s talent or performance. Instead, the ‘Tick Tick Boom‘ actor was “let go” for the most imprudent reason. No matter how many actors play Peter Parker, Andrew Garfield will always hold a special place in the hearts of Marvel fans. Sony was unhappy with Garfield for his apparent lack of social skills. However, later revealed that ‘The Social Network’ star was unable to attend the event wherein Kaz Hirai, chief of Sony planned on announcing the ‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ release in 2017. Unfortunately, Garfield had fallen sick and had no other choice but to miss the event.
During the infamous Sony hack in 2014, a series of leaked e-mails revealed the real reason why Andrew Garfield was fired as the Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman. According to a report, the email read, “Here we are about one hour away from our Galevent, and Andrew decides he doesn’t want to attend. He has a rather scruffy beard, and he just wants to be left alone.” Also, Garfield gave no clear rather cryptic response to The Guardian in 2016 when asked about being fired. “No, I don’t think so. What I’ll proudly say is that I didn’t compromise who I was, I was only ever myself. And that might have been difficult for some people”, Garfield responded.
