The Marvel Cinematic Universe might finally be preparing to deliver a long-awaited partnership between two street-level heroes. Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist) has hinted at a ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 cast reunion with Mike Colter (Luke Cage) in a Heroes for Hire team-up. It’s especially intriguing for those who’ve been waiting years to see the former Defenders on the same team.

In an interview with GamesRadar+ at New York Comic-Con, Jones spoke about the prospect of reuniting with his fellow Marvel stars, and hinted at what the next season might look like. His remarks don’t confirm that there will be a full Heroes for Hire story, but they do make fans happy about what’s to come.

Jones was excited about the reunion with his former castmates, saying the chemistry between the actors and their characters was special. “The more they can flesh that out, the more the fans are gonna be happy because the fans really want it,” Jones explained.

He then teased that audiences might get a glimpse of the partnership in Season 3. “Something like that, I know people are desperate for. We’ll get a glimpse of that maybe in season 3 of Daredevil.”

The series has a chance to add more to the street-level corner of the MCU with Matt Murdock returning as Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. It would be logical to expand on the characters’ previous appearances with the introduction of Danny and Luke into a new partnership.

What Heroes For Hire Could Mean For The MCU

In Marvel Comics, Heroes for Hire began as a business founded by Luke Cage and Iron Fist, offering protection and investigative services to paying clients. The concept allowed the two heroes to combine their very different personalities and fighting styles while taking on threats that didn’t always require the Avengers.

Taking this concept to the MCU could provide Marvel with a new approach to telling grounded superhero stories. Instead of just world-ending threats, Danny and Luke could go after criminal networks, perilous investigations, and the day-to-day issues in NYC.

But, of course, Jones hasn’t confirmed how much ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 will utilize the partnership. It’s not a full Heroes for Hire story; it’s just a tease. Yet even if it’s just a brief sighting of Luke Cage and Iron Fist teaming up again after all these years, it would feel like a breath of fresh air.
