‘Deadpool’ is the most offbeat franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The script, narrative, and character arcs are completely different from Marvel’s other franchises’ filmmaking fabric. After two successful franchises, Ryan Reynolds is ready to revive Wade Wilson’s mad energy with the third installment. But, this time he will share the screen with Marvel’s most loved character, Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sent the fans into a frenzy when they announced that Wolverine will be back. They posted a video where Ryan asks Jackman if he is interested in being a part of the third installment, and Hugh agreed to do it. He will be donning the claws after five years since his last appearance as Wolverine in 2017’s ‘Logan.’ But the ‘Spirited’ actor, in a recent interview, revealed that it was not an easy task to get the actor on board to play the iconic Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds Had To Do A Lot Of Pestering To Convince Hugh Jackman
‘Deadpool 3’ has been one of the most anticipated Marvel films for next year. Ryan Reynolds will don the red costume after five years since the last installment was released in 2018. This time, the franchise is getting bigger and better. He has got the iconic ‘X-Men’ character, Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, on board. Along with him, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic will reprise their roles as Vanessa and Colossus, respectively.
In a recent interview with ET Canada, Ryan Reynolds talked about what a mammoth task it was to get Hugh Jackman on board. He said, “It’s been fun. He and I are both really excited. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So, to have this opportunity now is, I think actually weirdly, the perfect time.”
Ryan then talked about convincing Hugh to come on board. He continued, “I mean, I never stopped. I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I actually just think… I believe in timing … and I think he was ready.”
He added, “I think he was excited and what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”

‘Deadpool’ Screening Changed Hugh Jackman’s Mind In 2016
‘Deadpool 3’ will witness Wolverine for the 10th time across different franchises. Ryan and Hugh met for the first time when they met on the sets of ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine.’
But, in 2017, when he was on a promotional tour for ‘Logan,’ he claimed that he will be retiring from playing Wolverine. However, the ‘Deadpool’ screening in 2016 made him reconsider his decision.
Hugh Jackman said, “I went to a screening of ‘Deadpool.’ I was 20 minutes in, and I was like, ‘Ah, damn it!’ All I kept seeing in my head was ‘48 Hrs.’ with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy. So it’s been brewing for a long time. It just took me longer to get here.”
