Steve Rogers’ Final Moments
In Endgame, Steve Rogers travels back in time to return the Infinity Stones to their rightful places in the timeline. However, when he is done with his responsibility instead of returning to the present, he decides to stay in the past to live a full life with his long-lost love Peggy Carter.
The present-day Avengers find an elderly Steve Rogers sitting on a bench in the present. It is heavily implied that he passed on the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson, who is also known as Falcon. He receives Captain America’s shield in the final moments of the film and even Steve Roger’s oldest friend, Bucky aka The Winter Soldier agrees with this decision.
