‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is already one of the most ambitious solo films in Marvel Studios’ catalog. Now, Kevin Feige may have just hinted that the film doesn’t just focus on Peter Parker.
At Shanghai Expo 2026, Feige hinted that Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova might be returning to the big screen sooner than anticipated, raising hopes that ‘Brand New Day’ will fill the void between ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
Yelena Could Be Peter Parker’s Next MCU Connection
While Marvel hasn’t officially confirmed that Yelena will appear in the film, Feige’s statement has brought the possibility to life. “If you’re a fan of Yelena, wait until ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Yelena plays a big part in that. But if you don’t want to wait until then… You might see Yelena a little bit sooner in the movies.”

If it is true, then it could be a key stepping stone for the MCU’s next big crossover. After ‘Thunderbolts’, Yelena has become one of the most significant characters in the MCU, leading the team of New Avengers. That would make her a perfect fit for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, as both characters are in New York City.
Following ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, Peter Parker’s life has turned upside down, with Doctor Strange’s magic erasing the world’s memory of his existence. Still, the Avengers and Spider-Man fought with Thanos side by side.
The common history makes it easy for Yelena to want Peter’s assistance, whether it be on a mission or to draw him closer to the New Avengers before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Marvel has not yet announced how Spider-Man will be involved in their next crossover, so each new clue is interesting.
