The release of ‘Black Panther‘s sequel is still very far away. Not much has been revealed about the same either. There have been rumors about Namor getting a big role in this sequel of ‘Black Panther’. Tenoch Huerta, who starred in Narcos: Mexico, was rumored to be playing an unnamed villain in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever two years ago.
There were rumors that Huerta would play Namor the Sub-Mariner, T’Challa’s most vehement foe. Since then speculation has grown, especially with the casting of Tenoch Huerta. A lot of people are speculating that the actor will portray Namor in the MCU. The new concept art of the Namor provides the first glimpse at the character.

A very hazy promotional picture from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been circulating online. The image reveals the MCU’s Sub-Mariner look. One can rightly think of it as being inspired by the character’s iconic 1960s look, with a green and gold color scheme. Namor looks to be dressed in green swim trunks with a gold belt.
Further, he also wears gold armor on his arms, a green collar around his neck and chest, and armor on his legs and ankles. Even though the image is blurred, but the references to ankle wings can be easily made out. But yet it’s unclear if they’re part of the character’s physiology or part of the armored things he’s wearing.

In this hazy image, we can also see Namor wearing earrings or having long hair slightly tucked behind his ears. Also, this again shows a resemblance to the comic’s character. What’s fascinating about the purported initial glance is that there appear to be some cultural parallels. The cultural resemblance to Mayan or Aztec civilization, even if we can’t see them directly.

Another rumor about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is that it will take a different approach to Namor’s origin. They will take an approach that is based more on ancient Mayan culture than other myths about Atlantis.
Recently revealed wrap gifts for the film, which appear to feature Tepeyollotl, the Aztec jaguar god, seem to support the cultural resemblance. In terms of what we do know about Namor, writer Michael Waldron confirmed that the studio has different ideas for the character. And also there are speculations about his future in the MCU. This is after Namor did not appear as a member of The Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
