However, it wasn’t confirmed what exactly happened to Scarlet Witch after she was crushed by falling rocks in the climactic scene. While fans have been speculating over the same, Marvel has officially confirmed that she died in the destruction.

It’s finally confirmed that Wanda Maximoff died in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ — just what fans feared. Throughout the film, her character is driven by the thought of reuniting with her children who vanished at the end of ‘Wanda Vision’.
Her wish to be a mother again makes her jump through different multiverses and even kill heroes. She also has this need to find America Chavez, including Kamar Taj, and kill the Illuminati. Finally, in a moment of redemption, she decides to destroy the Darkhold temple and all copies of the book across the multiverse. This is after she realizes the variants she’s encountered aren’t truly her children and resolves to ensure that it does not happen again.

Till now, the particular scene didn’t talk about her death as her body was never shown. However, in the MCU book titled ‘Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline‘, Scarlet Witch’s death has been confirmed.
Can Multiverse Bring Back Scarlet Witch?
When Marvel closes a chapter, it doesn’t necessarily mean the end of a character’s story. While it’s also confirmed that Wanda has died, it doesn’t mean she can’t be brought back.
Marvel is at the peak of the Multiverse saga and anything can happen at this point, with of several legitimate theories hovering around. Her character could further make sense in other Marvel mainstream movies including ‘Avengers Secret Wars’. Marvel is as it is quite keen on bringing more variants into the timeline.
