The rumor of American rapper, Janelle Monáe playing the role of X-Men member Storm in the ‘Black Panther’ sequel. However, it didn’t happen. Many fans wanted her to play the role of Ororo Munroe, just like they wished John Krasinski to play Mr. Fantastic.
Fans finally got to see John Krasinski as Mr. Fanstastic in 2022’s ‘Dr. Strange: Multiverse Of Madness’. Now it seems like their wish to see Janelle Monàe as Storm might finally come true as a reliable scooper has revealed that Marvel Studios wants her to play the role of Weather Witch.

Janelle Monàe’s Dream To Play Storm In The MCU Might Finally Come True
According to the popular scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Janelle Monàe had discussions with Marvel for an undisclosed big role, supposedly, one of the core members of X-Men, Storm. Fans know an X-Men movie is currently in the pipeline which will start shooting later in 2025.
While talking to The Empire in 202, Janelle Monàe revealed that it is her childhood dream to play the role of Storm in a live-action movie. She said, “I definitely have thrown it out there. One of my dreams has always been to play Storm. I don’t know if she comes in Black Panther, but it would be a dream to have her in it. I don’t know where they are with that. A lot of women have played Storm and they’ve done an exceptional job, and I would love to be in that line of artists and get to do Storm justice.”
Marvel is currently rebuilding the X-Men and getting Janelle Monáe as Storm will be a great move. She already has a stamp of approval from fans. Previously, Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp played the role of Storm in past X-Men movies. Monáe will be the third actress to play Ororo Munroe.
In addition to her, Marvel is also going behind Dwayne”The Rock” Johnson to play X-Men antagonist Apocalypse. Marvel hasn’t announced anything officially about this movie so fans have to wait for more details to come out.

History Of Storm And Black Panther
In the MCU version of Black Panther, the late Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa was coupled up with Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia. However, in the comics, Storm was Wakanda King’s love interest.
Ororo Monroe also belongs to the royal family and is the daughter of a Kenyan princess. She is worshipped as the Rain Goddess in many African tribes. She marries T’Challa and becomes the Queen Of Wakanda. Their marriage was a major event in the Marvel comics they marketed this as “The Wedding Of The Century”.
When the feud between Avengers and X-Men escalated, they split up. They were regarded as the power couple of Marvel and fans loved their chemistry. However, they never got back together.
