In the original ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’, it seems Marvel had bigger ideas for Moon Knight. Instead of appearing briefly before disappearing into the background, Marc Spector was reportedly set to become part of one of the movie’s darkest stories, involving Jake Lockley, Khonshu, and Rama-Tut.
Moon Knight’s Scrapped Kang Dynasty Story Was Far Darker Than Expected
The leak states that Moon Knight would join Spider-Man’s team when the Avengers faced off against one of Kang’s most dangerous variants, Rama-Tut. Marc, however, wouldn’t be the first to fight. Jake Lockley, the most ruthless of Marc’s personalities, would be in charge of the Moon Knight suit.

The detail alone would have made the character much more unpredictable. Jake is not just a rehash of Marc. He’s far more violent, and his fight with Rama-Tut is like a battle between two forces that have no intention of playing fair.
Jake Lockley Falls, But Marc Spector Keeps Fighting
Eventually, Rama-Tut is able to overpower Jake, and Marc Spector takes over his body. Instead of hiding, Marc goes back on the battlefront as Moon Knight, while Khonshu also materializes to assist him in assuming the role of the time-traveling antagonist.

The fight would be a pivotal moment in Moon Knight’s career. Marc manages to somehow screw up Rama-Tut’s temporal device, which prevents the villain from controlling time. It seems for a brief second, Moon Knight is going to change the game.
Then all the things go wrong. Rama-Tut uses his own weapon to kill Marc, poking him in the chest. Khonshu is defeated as well, leaving Moon Knight’s story on an incredibly grim note. It’s a kind of superhero death that would have left the audience in disbelief.
Moon Knight wouldn’t have simply shown up to remind viewers that he exists; he would have entered the Kang war with his different personalities, his godly connection, and a genuinely consequential role. If this plot was ever considered, it’s clear that Moon Knight could have had a much larger part in the original Kang Dynasty.
