Thor Lost Almost Everything Around The Avengers
Thor’s tragedy was not with the Avengers. He had already lost way more than he could have ever hoped to lose before he joined them, most notably his mother, Frigga. The following years, however, made his life an almost unbelievable string of misfortunes.

Odin died. Loki sacrificed himself. Then Hela came back and destroyed Mjolnir and forced Thor to destroy Asgard. His people were forced to flee, and then Thanos struck down the remaining Asgardians. Eventually, Thor came to his senses and found himself standing over Thanos with Stormbreaker in his hand, thinking that he had finally won.
Instead, Thanos lived long enough to snap. That moment shattered something in Thor. The problem wasn’t simply that he failed. Thor believed he had the power to prevent it, and his failure became something he couldn’t escape. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ revealed just how strong that guilt was as Thor decided to retreat from the world and couldn’t see himself as the hero he once was.
Doctor Doom Could Push Thor Even Further

Rather than asking if he can beat Doom, the question is whether he can beat Doom. It’s whether the god who has lost nearly all can finally find something to fight for again. If Marvel embraces that emotional past, then Thor’s fight with Doom may be more than just another superhero duel; it could be a battle against his entire existence.
