As the Multiverse Saga has been bringing in a large number of new characters to the MCU, in addition to giving the previously recruited heroes in the franchise more depth- The ‘Nova’ TV series seems to be moving closer to being a reality in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The fans have been waiting for the MCU to feature a vintage Marvel character like Nova, whose appearance was hinted at in the first ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film. Let us look at all that Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige has to say about this addition

MCU’s Nova TV Series Update
According to Kevin Feige, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now prepared to take on the Nova-based project. Even though there are a lot of projects being developed during Phase 5 at the Marvel Studios wherein the Multiverse Saga is currently taking place, the possibility of introducing new superheroes never goes away.
Feige was asked whether he could provide any developments on the long-gestating Nova TV project in a recent interview with ComicBook.com. The President of Marvel Studios has officially revealed that the live-action series will center on Richard Rider and even gave a sneak peek at when it could be expected to hit the screens.
“It’s happening, it’s coming together. Richard Rider, yep. A show, yeah, yeah. It’s three or four years out,” Feige said. Though he was careful about revealing new information about Nova, fans are already putting bets on which Phase would accommodate the series the best. Given Feige’s comment that the ‘Nova’ TV show won’t happen until 3–4 years from now, it would make perfect sense for his solo series to take place after The Multiverse Saga.

When Was Nova First Mentioned In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Nova’s first clue was revealed within the MCU in the 2014 film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. With the “Nova Corp” being of prominent value throughout the film, Rhomann Dey (John C. Reilly) played a major part in instigating the backstory of Richard Ryder’s character.
After the destruction of Nova Corp’s planet, Xander was mentioned in ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘. Although it has been six years since the film’s premiere, we never really got to see what transpired.
It is only logical to assume that by the time the series airs, it will almost be a decade of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. As ‘Shang Chi’ and ‘Eternals’ did at the start of Phase 4, the Nova series may eventually become a distinct application that aids in preparing for Phase 7.
In an interview, director James Gunn explained why he never included Richard Rider in his iterations of the Nova Corps. “Yeah, I never had Richard Rider in anything. He’s just too big of a character and he seemed too… I didn’t want to… From the beginning, when I came on board Guardians, I didn’t want to have two human beings,” Gunn said. “I wanted to have one human being so that he could be surrounded in this world of aliens. And then we realized little by little, that all of these characters are the only of their kind, they’re the only human being to them, you know?”
