The death of Robert Downey Jr.‘s brilliantly portrayed Iron Man left fans across the globe heartbroken. However, they do not leave the chance to wish for his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They claim that the ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘ would be the best chance for the MCU to bring back all the important superheroes. So, fans are holding onto a tinge of hope.
In the movie, Kang will probably be the villain and the superheroes will need all the help they can get. So, it would only make sense that big superheroes such as Iron Man, Maguire’s Spiderman, and Wolverine return to the MCU universe. These rumors started after a prominent Marvel leaker posted a tweet regarding Hugh Jackman’s conditions for returning.
Is Robert Downey Jr.’s Return As Iron Man Possible?
Despite nothing being confirmed, fans are adamant about Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback to the MCU universe. A Marvel leaker had tweeted, “Hugh Jackman told Marvel he will return for Secret Wars, but only if he gets to interact with Tobey Maguire and Robert Downey Jr. in the movie.” Furthermore, this information ignited hope in Iron Man’s fans for his return in the latest movie.
People were quick to respond to the tweet with theories of their own. One user added, “I mean, it only makes sense. The biggest stars of the Big 3 Marvel film franchises. The ones that gave each big vertical (Spider-Man, X-Men, and MCU) their start on the big screen.” Furthermore, another user added “Would be the greatest cinematic moment ever with 3 OG’s on screen.”

Hugh Jackman Allegedly Demanded RDJ And Tobey Maguire’s Return
Hugh Jackman had previously retired as Wolverine in 2017. His latest appearance was in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ which is to release in the theaters on July 26. This has only led to people hoping for other such returns like RDJ’s Iron Man, etc. Moreover, Marvel movies like ‘Spiderman: No Way Home‘ and now ‘Deadpool 3‘ all have multiversal elements that make it possible for such returns to happen without changing the story.
In an interview in 2017 after retiring, Hugh had also spoken about joining the Avengers. He said, “The Avengers would prove too much to turn down, Because I always love the idea of him [Wolverine] within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man, but there are a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know. At the moment, honestly, if I really did have them there, I probably wouldn’t have said this is the last [about Logan]. It just feels like this is the right time [to leave the character].”
