Now that the shaping-shifting Skrulls are back on Earth there is no telling who to trust and who to not. Many Skrulls have disguised as Marvel characters in Phase Five’s ‘Secret Invasion‘. Depicted as antagonists in Marvel Comics, these shape-shifting aliens have shown to be allies to humanity. ‘Secret Invasion‘ explores the rebellious groups of Skrulls who have been insinuating humankind in an effort to proclaim Earth for themselves.
Also, it is impossible to identify a Skrull once they’ve claimed a human body. Hence any characters featured in ‘Secret Invasion‘ could be outed as the alien rebellious group.Â

5. James Rhodes
Don Cheadle is back in the suit of James Rhodes in ‘Secret Invasion’. With Phase Five in motion, Rhodes will get the spotlight he deserved. As a former Colonel in the United States military, Rhodes always jumped the line as a superhero working alongside the Avengers and working for the government as well. However season one of the series confirmed that Rhodes is now working with Ritson, the President of the United States.
With the higher position in the government, it would actually make sense that Rhodes is actually Skrull in disguise. Gravik and the alien rebellion’s plan of taking over human civilization will work if they replace humans in high-level positions in the governments, as they would be able to destabilize nations from within. As an Avenger and as well as a high-ranking government official, Rhodey is the perfect candidate for the Skrulls to replace.
4. President Ritson
In the MCU timeline, President Ritson portrayed by Dermot Mulroney is the current president of the United States succeeding President Ellis who was previously seen in ‘Iron Man 3’. As the President of a post-Blip MCU, Ritson appeared out of nowhere, which makes him a suspectable Skrull. If James Rhodes can be the target of the Skrull to infiltrate the government, then President Ritson’s identity as Skrull be no surprise. There is one essential piece of information in the MCU’s future that also suggests Ritson may not be who he says he is.
Thaddeus Ross is taking over as the President of the United States in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ set to be released on July 26, 2024. Since Ross will soon become the MCU’s President, it can be presumed that Ritson won’t survive in ‘Secret Invasion’. This could only mean that the Skrulls killed the real Ritson to legislate their plan.

3. The UK Prime Minister
The leader of the United Kingdom’s government has never appeared in the MCU until now, but the ‘Secret Invasion’ will expand beyond. The set photos of ‘Secret Invasion’ revealed an image of a fictional newspaper’s front page which reads “President Ritson in London for Emergency Talks,” revealing that Ritson would be meeting with the British Prime Minister during the Secret Invasion as well as Rhodes.Â
As President Ritosn is most likely to be turned out as the Skrull, his meeting with the British leader would only indicate another faction of Gravik’s Skrull rebellion.
2. Sonya Falsworth
Sonya Falsworth portrayed by Olivia Colman debuted in episode one of ‘Secret Invasion’ as a high-ranking MI6 Agent and an old friend of Nick Fury’s. She is descended from James Montgomery Falsworth, who was a member of Captain America’s Howling Commandos during World War II. As Sonya is shown to be an ally to Fury, she still believes that Fury is not fit to protect England’s national security.Â
The only way to identify a Skrull disguised as humans is to ask them questions only they’d know. The Skrulls can only impersonate down to DNA but cannot register for long-term memories. Since Sonya and Nick Fury had an in-depth conversation, with Sonya referring to the old Fury several times, it’s likely to assume that she is who she says she is. But based on theory and years of knowledge is it easy to research Nick Fury and learn all about him. Thus it will be impossible to trust anyone in the Secret Invasion with Skrulls impersonating everyone in the government.Â
1. Nick Fury
Since the start of MCU, Samuel L. Jackson was been playing the role of Nick Fury and has become one of the longest-serving actors in any superhero franchise. Despite the lengthiest career in the MCU, the ‘Secret Invasion’ marks Fury’s first solo adventure, meaning the fans will get to know more about his personal life and struggles of post-Blip. With no Avengers to assist him, Fury’s only aid is Talos, the former Skrulls leader.
After the events of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, Nick Fury was been off-earth, working on the SABER Space Station. However ‘Secret Invasion’ episode one saw Furry being impersonated by Gravik himself, but after this moment, and in the wake of the Blip, ‘Secret Invasion’ saw Fury return back to his original form.
