Established actors in Hollywood are still knitting their dreams of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The franchise still seems to be a valid benchmark in the careers of many established actors in the industry, one among them being David Krumholtz.
David Krumholtz is known for many notable roles, but the actor gained recognition for his portrayal of Isidor Isaac Rabi in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’. From the bombarding sets of ‘Oppenheimer’ Krumholtz wants to jump into the alluring world of superheroes.

David Krumholtz Wanted To Be A Part Of MCU
In a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, David Krumholtz revealed that he met with the director of The Fantastic Four for the role of Ben Grimms, a.k.a The Thing. The actor expressed his desire to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying, “It’s been a big, sort of unabashedly craven goal of mine to be part of the MCU in some way.”
Krumholtz said that he was connected with the director via a Twitter post that had a picture of the Thing. The actor explained, “I only met him on the strength of a Twitter post or an Instagram post that I then took down two hours after I posted it. I was embarrassed. My post said, ‘I just want to be in the conversation. Somehow Matt saw the poster and called Krumholtz to discuss about the role.”
Krumholtz further added, “And I’ve never been so bold in a meeting before, just begging for the role, just straight up selling the shit out of it, the idea of how committed and passionate I was for it. But obviously that didn’t happen.”

David Krumholtz On Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Casting As Ben Grimms
Despite losing the role of Ben Grimms, David Krumholtz has no hard feelings. The official cast of ‘Fantastic Four’ revealed Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimms, along with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn. Even though Krumholtz lost the role, he is rooting for Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the actor said, “I think Ebon Moss-Bachrach is a really great choice. It makes way more sense in some ways.”
Krumholtz still hasn’t given up his Marvel dream. The actor expressed interest in playing the Fantastic Four’s villain Mole Man. Krumholtz told EW, “It’s not a joke at all. I mean, it’s a shoe-in for Mole Man, isn’t it? But I don’t know. I’ll do anything Marvel tells me to. I’ll probably end up playing like a superhero’s therapist.
Krumholtz also added, “Let’s face it. There’s slim pickings for guys like me in that world, unfortunately. I’m old and I’m not in any kind of acceptable shape. So we’ll see how that works out, if it works out at all.” Krumholtz hinted that Marvel rejects the actors based on their physical appearance. The actor has been obsessed with Marvel comics since the age of 11 and has always been fascinated with the technology used in MCU.
