All live-action adaptations of Spider-Man have treated the character of Peter Parker a bit differently. From emotional narratives to action-driven plots, every adaptation has had its fair share of strengths and weaknesses.
However, with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ coming soon, the Marvel Cinematic Universe can redefine the way Peter Parker will develop following the dramatic conclusion of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Could Finally Show Who Peter Parker Is Without Tony Stark

The biggest question that fans have is not what new villains or allies will be introduced next. It’s about who Peter Parker will be when the story resumes. The end of ‘No Way Home’, after all, placed the character in a totally new position. Peter Parker’s character, as portrayed by Tom Holland, has undergone a number of dramatic changes in the history of the MCU.

The first time the audience encountered Peter in ‘Civil War‘, he was a young and excited hero. His enthusiasm to join the world of the Avengers influenced a lot of his early character development. This relationship was brought into ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, where Peter spent most of the film attempting to gain Stark’s trust.
Subsequent movies such as ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ kept to the theme of Peter trying to juggle between normal teenage life and the huge burden of being a superhero. However, these arcs tended to reinitiate Peter’s growth instead of continuing to develop it. When the character appeared to be progressing emotionally, another crisis or plot would set him back to the starting point.
Peter Parker Deserves A Real Fresh Start

The conclusion of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ radically changed his life as the world forgot who he was. Peter had to start afresh at the bottom without friends, family recognition, and the support system that he used to depend on. In a sense, that scene was the first time the MCU’s Spider-Man was put in the familiar friendly neighborhood role that fans of the comics are accustomed to.

Peter is no longer supported by high-tech devices and influential figures, as he lives alone in a small apartment and sews his own suit. That change is a rare opportunity for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Rather than putting Peter back on the drawing board, the following chapter might finally look at what he becomes when he must solely depend on himself. And, frankly, that is where the most interesting Spider-Man stories are likely to reside, not in spectacle but in Peter’s development.
