Chris Hemsworth And Taika Waititi Were Clueless About Thor 4
We can assume that the lead actor and the director of a film must know whether there will be another installment of their film or not. But not in this case. As it turns out that the final line “Thor Will Return” after the post-credit scene in ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ surprised the people closest to this project.
Taika was asked about his directorial plans as it is clear that Thor will be back, during an interview with Insider. The 46-year-old director responded, “Well, guess what? That was a surprise to me, too.” He further explained that he and Chris Hemsworth found out about the end scene when they watched the film in the theater.
He said, “I’m not joking. I saw it in the theater and I was like, “Oh, shit. Really?” Even Chris was like, “What?” But, of course he’ll be back. He’s the best character. I mean, I may be a little biased, but he’s the most fun to watch.”
Taika then mentioned that he will only do the film if Chris is on board and there was something new to tell. He explained, “But it would need to be something surprising and unexpected for me to want to do it. Like what would be the new take? The battles and all the fighting is fine, but I would want something that feels unexpected when it comes to the story. Like making just a $5 million movie with no fighting at all, just Thor on a road trip. Like “Nebraska.”
Taika Waiti Explains The Taylor Swift Meme In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’
In the same interview, Taika talked about the bizarre screaming goat scene in ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ that has since gone viral. He said that the goats were there in the comics as well.
“They were never meant to be screaming. Then someone in post-production found this meme of a Taylor Swift song that has screaming goats in it. I didn’t even know that existed. So I hear the screaming goats and I just felt it was awesome,” Waititi explained.
He said that one of the CG vendors responsible for creating the CG goats added the song but with the fan-made goat sounds.
