Every MCU fan is familiar with the iconic villain Thanos. He was portrayed as one of the most powerful villains who had the capability to destroy the Universe. Despite this being true the Mad Titan in the comics in some instances is very different from the one portrayed in the Marvel movies. Mostly when it comes to his intelligence and wit.
In the MCU, Thanos’s absolute power and hunger for his quest for universe balance made him very hard to beat. However, Thanos in the comics written by Jim Starlin is way more complex, unlike in the Marvel version. Furthermore, even his backstory has a lot to it in the comic books.

Thanos In The MCU Vs. Comics: Understanding The Differences
Even in the comics, The Mad Titan has a god-like power. However, unlike in the MCU Thanos is portrayed as not much of a strategist. When he enters the ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ arc to achieve his goal of universal balance and uses it after finding the six stones, it showcases his weaknesses alongside the great power he has.
Thanos’ actions are rather impulsive and are focused on the goal he wants to achieve at the moment in the comics. However, In the MCU he is a strategic master who plans every move he conducts way ahead of time. Furthermore, unlike in the comics, he carefully plans each move of his to collect the infinity stones.

Fans Deemed Thanos As A ‘Brainwashed Deviant’
Thanos’s quest to collect all the infinity stones to achieve universe balance led to a lot of destruction. Despite being defeated and the Infinity Saga ending he was successful in achieving his goal. Furthermore, a lot of fans believed that he and his decisions were influenced by his ‘deviant origins.’
Despite the MCU not including this in their storyline, in the comics, Thanos carries the Deviant Gene. This was revealed to explain his appearance. Furthermore, this theory proposes that he was part of an Eternal Group. Even after years of the Infinity saga ending the ongoing fan base Thanos has revealed the effect he had on Marvel Fanatics.
