In the latest episode of ‘What’s new in the MCU this week,’ a new Greek god entered the MCU as a deleted scene from ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ was released online. The movie was released in the theatres on July 7, 2022. The movie will be available for streaming on Disney+ from September 8 and on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on 27 September. It’s reported that the latter option will offer some more special content.
The fourth installment in the Thor franchise saw Chris Hemsworth and his titular character – Thor of Asgard, reunite with Asgardian warrior Valkyrie, his former love interest Jane, and his best friend Korg, who are prepared to defeat the newest villain Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale. IGN released a teaser of one of the snippets, which introduced an unexpected Greek God, and it’s safe to say that the fans didn’t really like the surprise.
Which Greek God Made A Cameo In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’?
The deleted snippet which was released is titled, ‘Looking For Zeus’. As Thor, Valkyrie, and Korg make efforts to defeat Gorr, the trio makes a trip to the Omnipotence city, which is the metropolis home of the gods, to take Zeus’s help. There, they encounter none other than Zeus’s son, Dionysus.
Dionysus is the Greek God of wine and festivity. Dionysus immediately questions the group as they enter the parliament, “Hey you, what are you doing here? We don’t like strangers in Omnipotence City.” Thor asks about the whereabouts of his father, and after dropping the names of some of the gods, he finally lets the group know where his father is.
Twitter Reactions Aren’t Too Happy Or Positive
After the deleted snippet from ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ was released, fans immediately took to social media to express how they feel about it, and surprisingly, many fans are happy that the scene wasn’t included in the movie. Here are the reactions:
Taika Waititi should have deleted the entire movie. Please bring Alan Taylor back.. I never hated The dark world as much I hate Love and Thunder.

They could’ve cut way more of this movie. I want a serious Thor movie. God Butcher story arch was nowhere in there and Jason Aaron should be pissed!

So many one liners and lame puns that it became cringe worthy after a while and took me completely out of the movie.

However, some netizens also defended the movie from all the critiques. One of the users tweeted, “This is hilarious I don’t understand why everyone’s so upset, I’m Greek and I’ve read a lot of Greek mythology it’s not like the gods were always depicted as cordial they were often rude and insensitive. So the scene is a fairly accurate interpretation.”
