Vanessa Kirby Expresses Her Admiration For Sue Storm And Other ‘Fantastic Four’ Members

Fans are super excited as ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is all set to hit the screens soon. Adding more to the anticipation, actress Vanessa Kirby delved into the complexities of her character in the film and revealed how she connects with Sue’s journey.

Talking to The Official Marvel Podcast, Kirby expressed her admiration for the way Sue and the rest of the ‘Fantastic Four’ characters are portrayed in the comics. Moreover, she highlighted the characters’ relatable humanity and the deep bonds they share, despite the extraordinary circumstances they face.

“For me, I love that they were humans that went through something really extreme,” she explained. Kirby further asserted that she found particular resonance in the challenges and hardships that Sue and her teammates endure, emphasizing the authentic portrayal of their relationships. “They go through a lot of hard times as well, which I really love getting to know that,” she added.

Sue Storm is a powerful and resilient character in her own right. She possesses the ability to become invisible and create force fields, making her a formidable asset to the Fantastic Four. However, beyond her superpowers, Sue is a complex individual.

Kirby’s portrayal of Sue Storm is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the character.

Jessica Alba, Who Previously Portrayed Sue Storm, Was Also Up For The Role

Jessica Alba, who portrayed Sue Storm in the original ‘Fantastic Four’ film series, was also up for reprising her role as the character. The actress shared fond memories of her time as a superhero during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Alba expressed her love for the movies and the impact they had on her life. “I loved those movies and it also changed my life, that series,” she stated. She also revealed that she would be open to reprising the role of Sue Storm in the future, should the opportunity arise.

“No one has talked to me about it but I would jump at the chance. I loved that character and I felt like she was so unique in the Marvel universe at the time,” she added.
