Sony’s Spiderverse is expanding. After the financial and critical failure of ‘Morbius‘, Sony is heading with its second villain-centric film, ‘Kraven The Hunter’, starring Taylor Johnson. Also, the upcoming Spiderverse film will bring back a monstrous villain from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.
This week at CinemaCon the fans got their first look at ‘Kraven The Hunter’. The film is said to be R-rated with a violent action tone, which surprised many fans since every Sony film is PG-13. But one thing is clear no character is taken as a joke and the film will explore the depth of the characters. Also, the main villain of the Spiderverse film ‘Kraven The Hunter’ was revealed to be played by Alessandro Nivola.
The Fearsome Villain Of ‘Kraven The Hunter’?
In the footage description from CinemaCon of ‘Kraven The Hunter, the villain was revealed to be the animal monster Rhino. ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ laid a path for Rhino’s future, but unfortunately due to a villain-packed sequel, Rhino’s true abilities and powers became a joke. In the comic, the animal villain is Spider-Man’s formidable foe and is physically and intellectually challenging. However, Kraven’s version of Rhino looks promising and hopefully will not make a mockery of his abilities again.
Alessandro Nivola is playing the role of the monstrous villain. Also, the upcoming Spiderverse film will feature a new cinematic interpretation of Rhino and should hopefully tap into his actual villainous persona. The film will not stick to its comic version and will be adding its own spin on the reintroduced Marvel villain.

The Comic Book Version Of Rhino
In the Marvel comics, Rhino initially went by the name of Aleksei Sytsevich, a mafia thug. Devoured by greed and power Aleksei put himself through a series of life-threatening radiation treatments that transformed him into a superhuman. His strength came from his artificial armor which was bonded to his skin. Also, Rhino’s armor gave him a sharp horn on his head that lets him attack through most of the objects.
Rhino’s appearance is very different from its version of Spider-Man comics. In the comics, Rhino desires to let go of his armor and live an honest life, but in the upcoming Spiderverse film it seems as though Rhino will not seek mercy. Also, ‘Kraven The Hunter’ is an interesting project because Kraven himself is a villain who hunts meta-humans having animalistic tendencies. Kraven pitted against the Rhino will surely make the film intriguing and gripping.
