Movies and series are a source of entertainment for everyone for leisure. And if the audience likes a certain kind of movie series then the makers surely extend the storyline in one or another way. It’s the viewer’s interest and a good storyline that does the magic.
There are various film series that fans loved during the initial stages but later the storyline lost the way and the makers just extended the plot, when they could have ended the movie series way back. So here are 6 movie series that should have ended earlier:

6. Avatar
James Cameron’s ‘Avatar‘ movie was the kind of experience one would like to have for the first time. When the film first came out it garnered an impressive fan base as they were introduced to a world of a different planet with visuals like no other.
The movie was left on a cliffhanger and the next part came in 2022. The time gap and jump were long, which left the audience disconnected from the film. There are possibilities that more additions could be made to the franchise which might be unpleasant for viewers.
5. Men in Black
Again, a controversial opinion ahead. The ‘Men In Black‘ franchise is iconic on its own with bold action scenes and also the concept of science and drama, with Will Smith as Agent J. ‘Men In Black 2’ wasn’t loved by the audience and contributed very little to the success of the franchise.
Surprisingly, ‘Men In Black 3‘ was better than the previous film and performed better than expected. Later creators decided to bring ‘Men In Black: International‘ starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, and it was a complete disaster. Sony should have hit the breaks after ‘MIB 3’.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ franchise is one of the lowkey loved franchises thanks to the impeccable performance of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. He has done enough to carry the whole ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ franchise and it should not have 5 movies. ‘
The first movie, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl‘ was a good summer watch and performed well. Its sequels also performed better but as soon as ‘At World’s End‘ was released that was the time when the franchise should have stopped.
The movie also ends with Jack Sparrow going on his new unknown voyage. However, filmmakers kept on introducing new plots with the constant character, yes you guessed it right our beloved Jack Sparrow.
3. Star Wars (Skywalker Saga)
This could be a contradictory opinion for some as there are many ‘Star Wars‘ admirers. The film series was a massive story that the director George Lucas had to trim down to make it happen. ‘The New Hope’, ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ were some masterpieces from the franchise. Soon, the makers added a prequel trilogy to it, with new characters and plots which worked well.
Later, Disney tried to do something with the franchise. They crafted a sequel trilogy that fans didn’t ask for and even needed. However, still ‘The Force Awaken’ and ‘The Last Jedi’ were decent which had both good and bad parts. However, the last part, ‘The Rise Of Skywalker’ was just bad and features senseless dialogues such as “Somehow Palpatine returned”.

2. Jurassic Park
The ‘Jurassic Park‘ franchise is without a doubt interesting film series. Fans have loved every aspect of the dinosaur world. The first movie ‘Jurassic Park’ from the franchise has no competition to it. The movie was perfect in all senses with amazing visual effects. Because filmmakers had to continue the storyline of the film, they adapted another ‘Jurassic Park’ novel.
The second instalment, ‘Lost World: Jurassic Park’ was also a visual delight but the makers could have stopped then and there as both the movies were perfect in their way and continuing the franchise with more movies that didn’t even perform well and were mediocre was a waste of resources.
1. Fast And Furious
The Vin Diesel starrer ‘Fast And Furious‘ franchise has been continuing since 2001. The film series has ten movies as of now and still counting. Fans loved the initial films from the franchise but the movie makers believed in the quantity of movies rather than their quality.
Many fans believe that the series should have ended with ‘Fast and Furious 7’ which features a heart-touching homage to late Paul Walker. The film also emphasized on the theme of family. This theme has been prevalent in a few of the movies and ‘Fast And Furious 7‘ could have been the best way to end it.
After this one, they are just doing things for the sake of doing it such as strapping a rocket boost on a car or starring a car on the rocket for a space adventure. One other criticism the franchise faces is reviving killed-off characters such as Han and Gisele. Many fans want this franchise to bid adieu with ‘Fast X: Part Two’.
