The unpredictable seas of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise are stirring again, and this time, it’s Elon Musk who’s making waves. But the waves are coming hard at Disney, amid its woke agenda as the powerhouse of fairytales is losing its essence.
With Johnny Depp‘s departure from the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow role, Disney had set sail for a spin-off starring Margot Robbie. However, a recent Twitter buzz hints at a new captain on the horizon, Ayo Edebiri. Unsurprisingly this new development disappointed many and Musk is one of them.
Elon Musk On Pirates’ Next Captain Ayo Edibri
Recent rumors on X/Twitter, courtesy of an industry insider, suggest a potential change in the leading lady for the Pirates of the Caribbean 6 spin-off. Margot Robbie might be replaced by the Golden Globe winner Ayo Edebiri, known for her role in ‘The Bear.’ The twist aims at diversifying the cast, portraying a younger crew in pursuit of hidden treasures.
According to the speculations, Edebiri’s character might be inspired by real-life pirate Anne Bonny as it’s also named ‘Anna’.
The X CEO, Elon Musk, known for his outspoken nature, didn’t hold back in expressing his discontent at the news. Quoting the tweet revealing the potential casting change, he succinctly stated, “Disney s*cks.” Musk’s sentiment aligns with many other fans disappointed by the woke Disney era.
The backlash comes more on the heels of the new casting rather than not bridging the old Jack Sparrow back for that ship has sunk. Johnny Depp had previously declared his reluctance to return to Disney after the studio dropped him from the franchise amid domestic violence allegations by Amber Heard. The actor rejected the alluring offer of $301 million, which set his words in stone.

Disney’s Plans For The Franchise So Far
The future of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ remains shrouded in uncertainty. However, Disney had initially planned a spin-off with Margot Robbie, followed by the sixth installment in the original franchise. The second film idea, created by Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott got a thumbs up from Disney, but it hit a roadblock due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
As fans ride the waves of speculation, the Pirates franchise appears to be charting a new course with potential diversification in casting. Will Ayo Edebiri captain the ship, or is there more drama waiting to unfold in the Pirates of the Caribbean legacy?
