Margot Robbie is undoubtedly everyone’s favorite actress. Her performance in ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street‘ and ‘Suicide Squad‘ are proof of her versatility. Quite the star who’s much loved on the big screen, the 32-year-old’s two new movies, ‘Barbie‘ and ‘Babylon‘ are soon to be released.
In her recent cover story interview with Vanity Fair, the actress got to talk about many of her thoughts, insights and opinions. The conversation also brought forth an update on her ‘Pirates Of The Carribbean‘ spin-off movie, which faced several issues amidst the Depp-Heard trial. Here’s what Margot’s vision for the film was and why Disney scrapped it.

Margot Robbie Was Planning A Female-Led ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Spin offย
Whilst getting reading for the release of ‘Babylon‘ next month and ‘Barbie‘ next summer, Margot Robbie is also involved in other projects. One of them is the preproduction of ‘Oceanโs Eleven‘ prequel that sheโll star in and produce. Apart from this prequel, she was also involved in the making of a ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean‘ spin-off movie.
Talking toย Vanity Fair, the ‘Suicide Squad‘ actress described the vision she was plotting for the spinoff. “We had an idea, and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-ledโnot totally female-led, but just a different kind of storyโwhich we thought wouldโve been really cool,” Margot explained. However, the spin-off now stands canceled following Disney‘s rejection of the plot. “I guess they donโt want to do it,” Margot said about Disney’s decision of scrapping it.

‘Barbie’: The Iconic Doll Is Ready To Exceed Everyone’s Expectations
Margot Robbie, along with Greta Gerwig, has co-written and directed the upcoming 2023 release, ‘Barbie‘. The movie will take on a completely different turn with the doll subverting the most obvious expectations that the audience would have from a movie like ‘Barbie‘ considering that the doll was always presented according to certain stereotypical qualities we’ve seen from a young age.
“Making an obvious Barbie movie wouldโve been extremely easy to do and anything easy to do is probably not worth doing,” Margot said. ‘Barbie‘ will hit the theatres on July 23, 2023. Ryan Reynolds will play Ken in the film.
