Maybe pink is not everyone’s taste. And it is not sitting well with the right-wing conservatives that a feminist movie is breaking records. Joining the trope, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also not stepped back from expressing his views on the box office hit movie ‘Barbie’. And is mocking the movie through his remark.
One of the most anticipated movies of the year, ‘Barbie’ starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling broke the opening weekend record for the year. With brilliant marketing that turned Hollywood to pink for months, the movie is far away from disappointing the viewers. It has also shattered the first-weekend record for a film directed by a woman. So what is Elon Musk critical about? Here’s more.
Elon Musk Is Against ‘Barbie’
A meme appeared on Twitter making fun of Elon Musk’s decision to change the Twitter logo from the blue bird to X. The movie-themed tweet had pink Barbie and black and white Oppenheimer on it. It was commenting on this meme that Musk criticized the movie ‘Barbie’. He commented, “It you take a shot every time Barbie says the word ‘patriarchy’, you will pass out before the movie ends.”
The 52-year-old billionaire is not the first one to mock the movie for its patriarchal references. Ben Shapiro also complained on Twitter earlier. “All you need to know about #BarbieTheMovie is that it unironically uses the word ‘patriarchy’ more than 10 times,” the political commentator noted.

Elon Musk’s Take On ‘Oppenheimer’
Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited movie ‘Oppenheimer’ has already become a box-office success by grossing more than $250 million in just a few days. But the OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and SpaceX owner Elon Musk are not satisfied with the Nolan masterpiece. “I was hoping that the Oppenheimer movie would inspire a generation of kids to be physicists but it really missed the mark on that,” Sam Altman had tweeted. “I think the social network managed to do this for startup founders,” he added.
Elon Musk commented “Indeed” under Altman’s tweet. On July 23, Elon Musk shared a tweet with a photo of someone scrolling through TikTok while watching the 3-hour movie. “This Oppenheimer movie is way too long,” Musk had captioned the picture.
