Now, Blair has spoken about reprising her character on one condition.

What Will Make Linda Blair Will Return To ‘The Exorcist’ Franchise?
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Linda Blair expressed her excitement about returning to the big screen to play Regan MacNeil once again. But this comes with strings attached. Blair noted that she would only return to play Regan once more under one condition. She said, “If the audience wants me to come back, they need to help me to change the plight of the animals right now. I’m hoping the public will understand. I want to go back and work, but I won’t leave my animal friends.” Blair wants her fans to help in her mission of saving animals.
Other than her enchanting performance on screen, Blair is a prominent activist for the animal rights movement. In 2004, she founded the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves to rehabilitate and adopt rescue animals.

Fifty years later, Linda Blair says that it was not a horror film, despite the film setting a benchmark for the horror genre.
The actress said to Business Insider that she is proud to be a part of the project. Blair added, “I am proud to be part of it. It is something that I know has rocked the world in many different ways. I’ve explained it’s a theological thriller. It’s not a horror film.”
