Princess Diaries 3 In The Works!
Aadrita Mukerji, the writer of ‘Supergirl’, is reportedly working on ‘Princess Diaries 3’ project at Disney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Instead of a reboot of the series, which is based on Meg Cabot’s ‘Princess Diaries’ books, the new movie is thought to be a continuation of Mia Thermopolis’s story. It will be some time before the film is released on huge screens though, because the script is still being written. Fans were expecting a a third movie since a long time.
The third film might be about how Mia is different from her grandmother as a ruler. We may also get an update on her love life. If she actually got married to Nicholas or if Michael makes a return, or something else completely. We wouldn’t put it past Disney to give us a pleasant surprise! If filming begins in 2023, Princess Diaries 3 could possibly be released in theatres in 2024, most likely in the second half of the year.

Is Anne Hathaway And Julie Andrews Coming Back For Princess Diaries 3?
Anne Hathaway does not currently have a deal to come back according to reports. However, the actress professed she would like to return to the role of princess Mia Thermopolis and showed her support. Hathaway told ET in October 2022, “I would more than entertain it; I’m pulling for it.” She further said “If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”
Although Andrews previously has stated that it “would be too late to do it now”. “There was talk of a sequel many, many years ago. But I don’t think it ever came to pass. And Garry (Marshall, the director) then did leave us” she said. “It’s too far down the line now to go back to it. It’s a lovely thought, but I don’t think it would probably be possible.” Well we can still hope ofcourse. Disney might find a way around to feature both the leading ladies for the third film in the franchise.
