What Can Fans Expect From Johnny’s New Role?
The inspiration for the historic love story is the life of Jeanne du Barry. She was Louis XV’s last royal mistress. Jeanne was a young working-class woman longing for culture and pleasure. She was the illegitimate daughter of a seamstress and was born into poverty. She advanced in Louis XV’s Court at Versailles and high society in 18th-century Paris by utilizing her knowledge and attractiveness.
He regained his taste for life as a result of their connection. She ended up being Louis XV’s favorite companion. However, he was oblivious to her role as a courtesan. The two fell head over heels, and Jeanne went to Versailles against all manners and decency, shocking the court upon her arrival.
After 11-week filming at sites including the Palace of Versailles and other chateaux in the Paris region as well as at the studio, the movie is presently in post-production.
The movie is Mawenn’s most ambitious project to date, for which she co-wrote the screenplay with Teddy Lussi-Modeste in addition to serving as both co-star and director. Benjamin Laverne, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noémie Lvovsky, and others are also cast members in ‘Jeanne Du Barry‘.
