A24 is known for producing some pushing-the-envelope cinema. The production company backed films like ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ which dominated the Oscars in 2023. However, the production company gained notoriety for producing the Mia Goth-starrer trilogy of ‘X’, which was followed by the prequel ‘Pearl’, and now ‘MaXXXine’.
However, recently, ‘MaXXXine’ and A24 have come under fire due to a legal lawsuit filed against the protagonist, Mia Goth. The star has been embroiled in a lawsuit as an extra in the upcoming film. She sued for her battery and mentioned the production company for wrongful termination. The extra has also accused Mia of bullying him and threatening him to not drag her or the film into a lawsuit.

The third film in the ‘X’ trilogy, ‘Maxine’, is currently embroiled in a lawsuit. Mia Goth, the leading actress in the film, is getting sued by an anonymous extra on the film for kicking him on purpose, bullying him, and mentioning A24 for wrongful termination. As per the documents obtained by TMZ, Mia allegedly kicked his head on purpose while shooting a scene and bullied him afterward.
As per the lawsuit, the extra was lying on the ground for hours covered in fake blood prosthetics. Mia Goth had to run past him, step over him, and look back at him before running. The actor asked her to be careful after she “nearly stepped” on him. Mia then intentionally kicked him, which caused a concussion.
The background actor also revealed that he was “taunted, mocked, and belittled” by Mia Goth and threatened him if he took action against her or the movie.

The Actress Did Want People To See Maxine Or Pearl As Villains
After the two successful films, Ti West is all set to bring another film in the ‘X’ trilogy titled ‘MaXXXine’. The film is set in 1985’s Los Angeles, as Maxine is looking to become a top actress. The film has a new cast, which includes Halsey, Lily Collins, Elizabeth Debicki, and others.
During an interview with Indie Wire, Mia Goth revealed that she did not want Pearl or Maxine to be villainized. She said, “I had a lot of sympathy toward Pearl, and it was important that even in this world that they’re in — in a slasher film — they wouldn’t be presented as horror tropes or they’re seen as the monsters. That wouldn’t have been interesting for me to have played at all.”
