Walt Disney Studios is bringing a modern interpretation of the boy who refuses to grow up. David Lowery directs ‘Peter Pan And Wendy‘ based on beloved children’s stories from J.M Barrie. The film stars Alexander Molony as Peter and Ever Anderson as Wendy in the titular roles. Yara Shahidi and Jude Law play Tinkerbell and Captain Hook.

‘Peter Pan And The Wendy’ is officially the fifth film to feature the character of Peter Pan. The last live-action movie to have the character of Peter Pan was the Joe Wright-directed 2015 film ‘Pan.’ David Lowery’s reimagining of the classic Disney tale will have Peter and Wendy at the center of the story. ‘Peter Pan And Wendy’ Plot

The first look of the reimagined classic finds Wendy Darling on a quest to find Peter Pan in a distant land. Soon, the lost boys find her and take her to Peter. With Peter on her side, she undertakes a journey that will force her to face herself and finally come of age. The trailer also hints at a dark history between Captain Hook and Peter Pan.

She must protect the lost boys against the menacing pirate Hook and learn what it means to grow up and stand up for yourself. Her time with Peter Pan and The Lost Boys helps her better understand herself. Wendy Darling also learns to confront fears of approaching adulthood.

‘Peter Pan And Wendy’ draws its story from J.M. Barrie’s 1904 play ‘Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up‘ (also known as Peter and Wendy. The official synopsis for ‘Peter Pan And Wendy‘ reads, “Live-action adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale of a boy who wouldn’t grow up and recruits three young siblings in London to join him on a magical adventure to the enchanted Neverland island.“

Cast And Release Date Details Of ‘Peter Pan And Wendy’

London-born Alexander Molony makes his acting debut, playing the titular boy hero. American actress Ever Anderson will bring Wendy Darling to life. Yara Shahidi appears as the Tinkerbell, and Jude Law plays the deadly Captain Hook.

Directed by David Lowery and co-written by Lowry and Toby Halbrooks, the movie also stars Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, Alan Tudyk, and Jim Gaffigan appear in supporting roles.

According to David Lowery, his version of Disney classic does not contain the existing racial stereotypes in previous movies. A fan of the 1953 animated classic, Lowery took extra caution to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past while directing and co-writing this adaptation.

‘Peter Pan And Wendy‘ is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on April 28, 2023.
