2024 is about to start and we already have our watchlists ready. With a lot more in store for the new year, here’s another addition to the “Movies You Should Watch” list: the remake of the classic ‘Road House’ film.
1989’s ‘Road House’ is getting a shiny makeover starring Jake Gyllenhaal and it looks absolutely promising. Here are more details on the remake.

Road House: Plot Details
The Road House remake is developed by Amazon Studios. The film’s plot has not been revealed yet but it’s safe to say that it will follow the plot of the original 1989 film starring Patrick Swayze. His character was a bouncer with a mysterious past and worked at one of Missouri’s rowdiest bars. The film focused on martial arts and barroom brawls.
The new version of the film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal will focus on his character Dalton who is an ex-UFC middleweight fighter who ends up working at a roundhouse in the Florida Keys.

Earlier this year a fight scene was shot at UFC 285 for the film.
Not much regarding the plot is known now, except for the UFC portion. Since no trailer is released yet, the plot is just a speculation. Further details will be revealed once a trailer or teaser drops.

Road House Cast And Release Date
Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing Elwood Dalton. The actor is known for his versatile performance across different genres of films, and it’s exciting to see what he will bring to the remake film.
Connor McGregor will also have a central role in the film- though it’s not disclosed yet. Daniel Melchior features as Ellie in the film while Joaquin de Almedia features as Sheriff Black. Also joining the film are actors like Lukas Gage, Billy Magnussen, Darren Barnett, and Beau Knapp whose roles haven’t been disclosed yet.

The film is directed by Doug Liman. As for the release date, no specific dates have been announced yet, as the film is expected to release somewhere in 2024. Although some outlets have reported that the film will be released in March 2024. Reports have also said that the film might be Prime Video exclusive, although the production house has not confirmed anything yet.
