Todd Phillips Drops Photos Of Lady Gaga And Joaquin Phoenix In Character
Todd Phillips took to Instagram on Christmas Eve to share two intriguing images of Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck and Lady Gaga stepping into Harley Quinn’s shoes. In the first photo, Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck is seen glimpsing through what seems to be a cell window marked with “E258” above.
The second photo shows Lady Gaga as Harley gazing at Phoenix’s character in his iconic Joker makeup and suit. “Wishing everyone a happy holiday and a beautiful new year. Oct 2024 #Joker2,” he wrote in the caption of the post, also revealing the release date of the movie.
The director however did not give away any details of the plot. The sequel is rumored to be a musical that will revolve around the romance between Joker and Harley Quinn. Set in Arkham Asylum, the movie’s subtitle “Folie à Deux” translates to “shared psychosis”.

“It’s both logical and also very surprising for me as well as the audience. So far, it’s just been a really beautiful conversation, and I’m really excited to see how it unfolds,” she said.
Actress Zazie Beetz also teased the fans of the franchise in June, pointing out that ‘Joker: Folie à Deux‘ would not unfold as expected. “We all sort of express musically and dancing in our lives day-to-day. I think it’s going to work really well,” she said.
