    1. Scream 6

Tyler Gillet’s slasher horror film ‘Scream 6′ is all set to be released on 10 March 2023. Although ‘Scream‘ 2022 is the best addition to the ‘Scream‘ franchise, the audience now has high expectations for ‘Scream 6‘. Fans are excited to watch all of their favorite forgotten characters back together fighting the masked killer.

Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, and Mellisa Barrera are all set to reprise their previous role in ‘Scream 6′. This installment focuses on the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a fresh chapter. This will be the first-ever ‘Scream‘ movie that won’t feature Neve Campbell.

    2. Evil Dead Rise

The cult classic horror film is back and all set to be released on the big screens on 21 April 2023. Sam Raimi’s characters are back with Lee Cronin’s scripts and direction. The trailer and the poster release of ‘Evil Dead Rise’ were spin-chilling and spiked excitement amongst the fans, hoping it will cover up the setback of 2013’s ‘Evil Dead‘.

‘Evil Dead Rise’ stars Lilly Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, and Morgan Davis in the lead. The movie follows a decade-late reunion of the sisters which is cut short by the discovery of a mystery book found in the cramped apartment of the elder sister, Ellie. The sister’s survival from the flesh-possessing demons develops into a nightmarish version of motherhood. Feels like Halloween has arrived early this year.

    3. Insidious 5

Unlike every other horror film, the ‘Insidious‘ franchise is not a simple tale of a haunted house or a possed doll. Rather it introduces us to the concept of a dark spiritual realm known as ‘The Furthur’. The spirits from this realm do not haunt places instead it haunts people till dead. ‘Insidious: Fear of the dark’ is the directional debut of the ‘Conjuring’ star Patrick Wilson which will be released on 7 July 2023.

Patrick Wilson, Ty Simpkins, and Rose Byrne will reprise their role from the previous installments. The film is set ten years after the end of the previous first two films (‘Insidious’ and ‘Insidious Chapter 2′). Josh Lambert heads to drop his son Dalton off at a university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them.

The cast line-up is definitely exciting and impressive but will it be able to save the film from the damages made by its 2003 version?

Unlike the original version which features a single dad, the reboot version revolves around the life of a single mom and her nine-year-old son starting a new life in a New Orleans mansion. ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ has raised the bar too high for the family horror-comedy genre. Only in August, the fans will be able to decide whether The Haunted Mansion was a disappointment or nailed the horror-comedy genre.

    5. The Nun 2

The Conjuverse is expanding and its next installment is ‘The Nun 2‘. Directed by Michael Chives it will serve as a sequel to ‘The Nun’ and the ninth installment of ‘The Conjuring‘ universe. The film will star Strom Reid, Taissa Farmiga, Anna Popplewell, Bonnie Aarons, and Jonas Bloquet.

Once again Sister Irene faces the demonic force Valak. ‘The Nun‘ is considered to be one of the most terrifying films of the Conjuverse, now fans are excited about ‘The Nun 2‘ and how will it increase the horror scale. The film will be on the big screen on 8th September.

    6. The Exorcist

This year Halloween is going to be more scary than usual, as ‘The Exorcist’ will release on 13 October. Although the title is yet to be decided the cast is locked down. Leslie Odom Jr., Ellen Burstyn, Ann Dowd, and Raphael Sbarge are in the lead role. This installment will serve as a sequel to 1973’s ‘The Exorcist’.

The film follows the journey of the father of a possessed child, who desperately goes in search of someone with similar experiences. It is tough for any sequel to recreate and match the impact that director William Friedkin’s terrifying original religious horror had an impact on the audience upon its initial release.
