    The Von Erich Family

The Von Erichs are one of the greatest families in wrestling history, as the brothers earned name and fame in the ring, their personal life was falling apart. The story of their success is both inspiring as well as heart-crushing. Fritz Von Erich, the father of the clan, is known for his famous wrestling move called The Iron Claw. He is an aggressive wrestler, whose legacy was carried on by his sons. Sadly, Fritz Von Erich died of lung cancer which spread to his brain in 1997.

However, the Von Erich family curse began in 1952 when the eldest of the six brothers, Jack Barton Jr. met with a tragic death only at the age of seven by accidentally being electrocuted which resulted in his drowning in Niagara Falls. This was just the beginning of the Von Erich Family’s dark phase. In 1984 David Von Erich, the best wrestler of the Von Erich family passed away at the young age of 25 due to acute enteritis. As the spotlight transferred to Mike Von Erich, drugs came in the way and Mike died from an induced drug overdose at the age of 23.

Unfortunately, the tragedies did not end there, unable to cope with the family name Chris Vonn Erich committed suicide in 1991. Kerry Von Erich had the looks of Kevin and the abilities of David, but as drugs got in his way, Kerry committed suicide in 1993 at the age of 33.
